Tiba Research Lab

I am fortunate to lead a team of Research Laboratory Technicians who are moving the needle on critical care research. As the Director of the Pre-Clinical Critical Care Laboratory (PC3L) within the Max Harry Weil Institute for Critical Care Research and Innovation, I help members establish tailored models that meet specific research needs. As a faculty in Michigan Medicine, I focus my research on the development of preclinical models for critical care diseases and development of noninvasive monitoring devices.

Recently, my team has focused on producing models of multi-system disease and injury. The large animal models developed by our team address complex disease states such as sepsis, acute respiratory distress syndrome, cardiac arrest (ARDS), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and polytrauma. These models contribute significantly to enhancing our understanding of diseases and provide a testing ground for new therapeutics, diagnostics, devices, and digital health solutions aimed at improving patient outcomes.
