Research

My research focuses on the development of preclinical models of critical care diseases with clinical fidelity, thus accurately reflecting the disease progression observed in humans. These models serve as pivotal tools not only for evaluating novel therapeutics and monitoring devices but also for the development of point-of-care tests. Their utilization facilitates a comprehensive exploration of the following aspects related to these diseases:

• Identification of physiological commonalities across various diseases.

•  Examination of the heterogeneity in their etiology, presentation, progression, and potential for recovery

•  Analysis of disease phenotypes and their implications on disease progression and prognostication.

• Facilitation of efficient translation to human medicine.
